Q: Do I really need a website?
A: According to Statistics Canada, when Conlatus started in 1999, 41.8% of Canadians had access to the Internet.  That figure has now almost doubled.  More people are using the Internet now instead of the telephone book when looking for businesses.  If your business is not on the Internet, you are going to be left behind.

Q: Why choose Conlatus?
A:  There are thousands of website companies out there because getting into the businesses seems so easy.  Conlatus has taken the much less common step of becoming a serious national website provider that our customers can depend on in the long term.  We have been serving customers across Canada since 1999.  Read more about what makes us different.

Q: My customers don’t use the Internet, so why would I need a website?
A:  Potential customers who use the Internet couldn't find you there, they are now your competitors' customers.

Q: My friend/family member can build a website for me for free – they are working on it now. Why should I pay your company to make me a website?
A: Have you ever noticed when someone is doing something for you for free it never seems to get done and if it does you never get quite what you wanted and then you feel like you can't really be pushy about it because they did you a favor.  What a waste of time!  Think about all of the professional services your business uses (banking, insurance, accountants, lawyers, etc.).  You can't trust a friend or family member that knows some basics about these topics to do the job of a professional.

Q: I want to work with someone locally. Why should I choose your company?
A: Even if your website development company is next door,  almost all of your communication will be done over email and the telephone.  We are only ever a phone call or email away.  Besides, we have never seen a local provider even come close to our level of service at such a low price.  If you can find one, please let us know.

Q: Have you made any website for companies in my industry?
A: We develop websites for small businesses from almost every industry, so most likely we have. Check out our Portfolio for links to some of the websites we have done or Contact us.

A: We will call you 3 or 4 times per year - depending on what you prefer.  We'll go over things with you on the phone and make any changes you need.  This can take as little as 5 minutes.  Read more about the Mnet Process.

Q: Will my Mnet website show up on Google/MSN/Yahoo?
A: Yes.  Your Mnet Marketing Report will also track how well your website is doing on the major search engines for one or two important phrases related to your company.  If you website isn't doing as well as you had hoped, we'll work with you until your expectations are met.

Q: Why isn't a link to my website showing up when I search for ________?
A: There may be millions of results on the search engines for a common phrase.  What we do is work with you to figure out what specific phrases your potential customers might be searching for.  Usually this means adding a place name or region name to the search.

Q: How do I improve the position of my website on the search engines?
A: The three things that the search engines like Google are looking for are: 1. Good Information - The more useful the information on your website is to people, the higher Google ranks your website, 2. Update Regularly - If the information on your website is fresh and current Google will give you a better rank, 3. (and maybe the most important)  In-Links - this means that Google keeps track of which and how many websites have a link to yours.  Google sees these links as a vote of confidence for your website - and the higher the rank of the website linking to you, the more weight it has.

Q: I did everything I could to get a better rank on Google.  Why aren't I seeing any results?
A: Google only checks your website every month or so.  Be patient.  If you have a lot of good information that you keep up-to-date and lots of websites link to yours, your rank will improve.
